Require Email Verification for Submission Option

There are some cases where it is important to ensure the contact form email indeed is owned/controlled by the person submitting the form. So it would be nice for these cases, to require their provided email to be verified in order to submit.

E.g. If they are submitting to the ‘Legal’ department for example, we could require email verification to ensure validity. This is one area where having raw emails for contact is superior to contact forms (email is validated, due to being sent from that email), having an email verification option could add this benefit to contact forms also - while simultaneously decreasing spam.

A possible implementation would be to have someone needing to provide email only (+ captcha) as the first step, and OpnForm then emailing them a personalized submission link.

On the logic level, perhaps a special form setting that ONLY accepts resuming partial submissions, and this initial mechanism creating a partial submission.

    Hi there,

Thanks for the detailed suggestion—this makes a ton of sense! 💡
In scenarios like contacting Legal or other sensitive departments, verifying the sender's email adds a much-needed layer of trust and authenticity.

    We hear you:
✅ Helps confirm the identity of the person submitting
    ✅ Reduces spam and abuse
✅ Bridges the gap between traditional email and form-based contact

Adding an optional email verification step would definitely bring more confidence to both sides of the form. We’ve added this to our internal discussions and will keep you posted as we explore ways to implement it effectively. Really appreciate you taking the time to share this!

    Best,
